No matter how many movies are released every year, there are certain films that we keep rewatching over and over. There’s a certain level of comfort and joy brought by seeing something familiar, especially if it makes you feel good and nostalgic.

1. Groundhog Day
This film directed by Harold Ramis is loved by many. It is one of 1993’s highest-grossing films. Bill Murray stars in this film as Phil Connors who got stuck in a time loop during Groundhog Day.
2. Shaun of the Dead
The first film of the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, this film was directed by Edgar Wright and starred Simon Pegg. It’s about Shaun, a London salesman who lives a monotonous life, but suddenly finds himself caught in a zombie apocalypse.
3. The Fifth Element
This sci-fi film is about a cab driver, who was a former special forces major, and his fight to find stones for a weapon that would save the Earth from a great evil. Luc Besson directed the movie.
4. Back to the Future
This first film of the Back to the Future trilogy is a cult favorite of sci-fi fans. It follows the story of Marty McFly, a high school student who was transported back in time by a time machine invented by an eccentric scientist.
5. Terminator 2
The sequel to Terminator gave its predecessor a run for its money. Terminator 2 is the highest-grossing film in 1991 and was highly praised for its visual effects. It follows the story of a cyborg trying to kill the future leader of the human resistance, while a less advanced reprogrammed version of a similar cyborg tries to protect him.
6. The Thing
The film is based on the novella Who Goes There? by John W. Campbell. It is about a group of scientists in Antarctica that encounter a shape-shifting alien causing them to be suspicious of each other.
7. Office Space
Though this film did not do well at the box office, it gained a cult following after repeated airings on Comedy Central. The film follows three IT employees who hate their jobs that rebelled against their boss. The support came from how their lives were much too relatable to real-life IT employees as well as white-collar employees.
8. The Mummy
This commercially successful film from 1999 follows the story of an archaeological team who accidentally awakened a cursed high priest who has powers. It stars Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, and Arnold Vosloo.
